The importance of the type of collar on a sweater
For us, how you feel and the attitude you have when wearing a garment are the most important things when it comes to showing it off. Even so, there are many factors, such as the fabric or the cut, that will make you feel "in your skin" in certain choices. The neckline of the sweater is one of them! From a more open boat or V-neck to boxy or turtleneck styles for winter, you have several options to choose from. What's really important? How it makes you feel!

Main types of collar for sweaters
V-neck sweater
The V-neck is one of those timeless classics that comes back season after season. It's called a "V" neck because of its shape, which ends at chest level, forming this letter. It's ideal for the transitional season.
This V-neck sweater is also made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. So it's super cozy and comfortable, not only because of its shape but also because of its fabric.
Crew neck sweater
Another classic, especially in women's fashion, is the rounded sweater collar. Like the V-neck, it's perfect for a light coat in fall or spring. When the collar is even more open, it's known as a boat neck.

Turtleneck sweater
Also known as a turtleneck, it's usually folded outward or unfolded, creating multiple pleats. Although it was popular as a sports garment, it's now featured in all kinds of designs. Among our eco-friendly women's sweaters, you'll find this type of turtleneck, which doesn't require a second turn, although you can add one if you feel more comfortable.

It's a perfect style for adding volume to the neckline. This wide collar folds over itself and is commonly found in various cuts, with one or more turns. Here's an example of this original design by Elisa Muresan, which simulates a shirt-style crossover neckline on the back.
Perkins collar sweater
Remember Anthony Perkins in Psycho? Well, it seems the collar he wore with his white shirt in this 1960s horror film was named after him. It's taller than the classic crew neck, but shorter than the turtleneck, making it both comfortable and warm.
